Nordiska Kompaniet
Armchairs in Pine, 1940s
A pair of Nordic pinewood armchairs by Nordiska Kompaniet. Model “Ekerö”, named after the village on the island in the Mälersea, north of Stockholm. As Axel Einar Hiorth was the long term designer of Nordiska Kompaniet in Stockholm, the chairs show great resemblance with the sportstugemöbler, especially the Utö furniture designed by him in that period. Designed and executed in the 1940s.
